On 17th March, the Secretary General of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports (DDPS) of the Swiss Confederation Dr.Brigitte Rindlisbacher visited the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence. Dr. Rindlisbacher was accompanied by Mr Urs Rubli, Assistant to Secretary General DDPS and Mr Patrick Ganser, Security Policy DDPS, Chief of Strategy and International Affairs. In a meeting with Deputy Director Aivar Jaeski, Dr. Rindlisbache was briefed about the Centre’s research on hybrid warfare and discussed possible bilateral cooperation between the Government of the Swiss Confederation and NATO StratCom COE.
During her visit to Riga, Dr. Rindlisbache met with officials from the Ministry of Defence.
As Secretary General of the DDPS, Dr. Rindlisbache oversees the department's personnel, financial, legal, IT, spatial planning and environmental activities. She is also responsible for security policy strategy, communication, and the Am Guisanplatz Library among other things.
