Program of Work

Main projects and activities in 2016:

  1. Examine how NATO as organisation and its members can protect themselves from subversive leverage
  2. Research Russia’s campaigns and propaganda methodology against NATO allies
  3. Analyse early signals of a hybrid warfare scenario in order to develop early-warning-measures
  4. Examine trends in social media and their further development
  5. Support StratCom training courses in NATO school Oberammergau
  6. Organise international training for staff responsible for Strategic Communication
  7. Support NATO StratCom training and education, including exercises education
  8. Support development of NATO policies & doctrines 
  9. Research Social Media and Information Technology for Disaster and Crisis Response
  10. Support NATO Public diplomacy impact assessment
  11. Develop Academic Magazine “Defence Strategic Communications” Vol2
  12. Participate in other events connected with competencies of the NATO StratCom COE

  1. Support the development of a NATO Military Committee Strategic Communications policy and doctrine
  2. Research how to identify the early signals of a hybrid warfare scenario
  3. Develop Academic Magazine “Defence Strategic Communications”
  4. Study Russia’s Information Campaign against Ukraine
  5. Research how NATO and its members could protect themselves from subversive leverage
  6. Research 10 years of ISAF Strategic Communications efforts to extract best practices and lessons learned
  7. Analyse the implementation of the NATO Strategic Communications policy throughout the NATO Command Structure
  8. Research the implementation of Strategic Communications within Allied nations
  9. Research ISIL information campaign and its influence on NATO countries’ societies
  10. Develop Strategic Communications online course “Strategic Communications for beginners”, courses for senior officials, basic and advanced courses for international staff officers
  11. Support NATO StratCom training and education, including exercises education
  12. Study how social media is being used as a weapon in hybrid warfare
