On 21st July, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii, paid a visit to Riga for a round of political consultations and met with the Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence Jānis Sārts.
Officials have referred, in particular, to the ways of strengthening strategic communication capacities in the field of security and defence, and to the modern ways of counteracting propaganda and media manipulations by developing a national informational space based on pluralism of opinions in both countries. Deputy Minister Darii discussed possibilities of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence to offer assistance in organizing trainings for Moldovan officials, both at strategic and operational levels, as well as internships for experts from the Republic of Moldova, including participation in research together with Centre's experts.
