On 28 November the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (hereinafter – the Centre). During the visit, President Rinkēvičs met with the Director of the Centre Jānis Sārts and gained insight into the Centre’s activities and current events on its agenda.
‘The convergence of artificial intelligence and digital communication is increasing the potential to mislead and undermine the resilience of society in times of crisis. Thank you for the insight into the work of the Centre, and I thank all Member States that support the Centre and have delegated their national experts,’ said President Rinkēvičs after the visit.
As always good to visit @STRATCOMCOE and to meet Director @janis_sarts and his team. We discussed the disinformation in the era of social media and artificial intelligence, and possible countermeasures pic.twitter.com/zc0goBdnUm
