President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves visited the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence on June 21. He met with Director Jānis Sārts, Chief of Staff Colonel Vytautas Reklaitis, Deputy Director Colonel Aivar Jaeski, and the Branch Chiefs. The president was briefed about the latest projects undertaken by the Centre, including researching propaganda techniques used by Russia and DAESH, analysing how NATO countries can identify the early signals of a hybrid warfare scenario, and the overall importance of strategic communications. President Ilves was positively impressed with Centre’s activities and research plans for the future. Estonia is one of the countries participating in the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence.
