A U.S. Congressional Delegation led by Senator Jeff Flake will visit Latvia July 1-3. The delegation will also include Senator Bob Corker, Senator Tom Udall, Senator Chris Coons, and Representative Ed Royce. This visit is part of a larger trip, which also includes stops in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
While in Latvia, the delegation will meet with the President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis, Foreign Affairs Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, Parliament Speaker Ināra Mūrniece, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence. The group will also visit Ādaži Military Base.
U.S. Senator Jeff Flake has served as Senator from Arizona since 2013, after 12 years in the House of Representatives. Senator Flake sits on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Foreign Relations Committee, and the Judiciary Committee.
U.S. Senator Bob Corker has served as Senator from Tennessee since 2007. He is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and sits on the Committee for Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, as well as the Budget Committee.
U.S. Senator Tom Udall has served as Senator from New Mexico since 2009, after 10 years in the House of Representatives and 8 years as Attorney General of New Mexico. He sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Appropriations Committee.
U.S. Senator Chris Coons of Delaware has served in the Senate since 2010. He sits on the Foreign Relations Committee and the Appropriations subcommittee with oversight of the foreign aid budget.
U.S. Representative Ed Royce of California has served in the House of Representatives since 1993. He is the Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and sits on the Financial Services Committee.
