LEPL Information Center on NATO and EU, with the support of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, NATO Liaison Office in Georgia and Embassy of Romania in Georgia organised NATO week in Georgia from 4-17 April. NATO Week was oficially launched with high-level NATO-Georgia Public Diplomacy Forum on 4-5 April. Public Diplomacy has become an integral component of strategies and policies to effectively address contemporary challenges affecting peace and stability of the Euro-Atlantic area and beyound.
Director Janis Sarts moderated a panel discussion entitled "Setting the agenda: proactive versus reactive institutional communication", which gathered Mr. David Bakradze (State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration), Mr. Ted Whiteside (NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy), Mrs. Anneli Kimber (Strategic Communication Expert, East StratCom Task Force, European External Action Service), Benjamin G.Ziff (Deputy Assitant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, U.S. Department of State) and Prof. Philip Seib (Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California) as panelists.
