On Wednesday, 20 January, delegation from Estonian Foreign Ministry led by Secretary General, Mr. Rainer Saks and accompanied by Estonian Ambassador to Latvia Mr. Tõnis Nirk visited the Centre to meet with the Deputy director Colonel Aivar Jaeski. Colonel Jaeski briefed guests on the Centre's history and both the current and future projects. He also gave an overview of the latest analysis on Russia's information campaign against Ukraine, Daesh information campaign and Trolling in social media. Secretary General Saks expressed his satisfaction with the results of these studies and assured continued support to the Centre’s work.
Mr. Rainer Saks has been the Estonian Secretary of State since 1 December 2015. From 1999 to 2001 Saks worked as an adviser to the foreign minister. From 2001 through 2006 he served as the deputy coordination director at the coordination unit of the Government Office. From 2006 to 2011 Saks headed the Office of the President, while simultaneously heading the council of the International Centre for Defence and Security (from 2007-2011). As of 2011 Rainer Saks holds the office of the Director General of the Information Board.
