From January 1 to February 2, Rose Gottemoeller, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, will be on an official visit to Latvia.

On February 1, R. Gottemoeller will visit the Ādaži base to meet with NATO members of the expanded presence in the combat group of warriors in Latvia. On February 2, NATO Undersecretary General will meet with Secretary of State Janis Garisons to discuss regional security issues and issues relating to the NATO enlargement presence in Latvia in the Battle Group. On the second day of her visit, Gottemoeller will meet with Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs, Ojārs Kalniņš  Chairman of the Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, and Jānis Sārts, Director of the NATO Strategic Communications  Centre of Excellence.

February 2, at 11.00 am  - 12.15 pm NATO Deputy Secretary General will lead a public lecture at the Riga Graduate School of Law "NATO Adaptation: Key to Peace and Security". The lecture will be in English. You can register for the lecture here: http://ej.uz/85jk.

Deputy Secretary-General of NATO, Mr Gottemoeller took office in October 2016.  For five years prior to this, Mr Gottemoeller was US Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.
