Director Jānis Sārts spoke at a discussion “NATO in 2018: Limits and Opportunities in Responding to Existing and Emerging Challenges” on 15 June 2018 in Riga. 

In two panels of the discussion, policy makers and experts from Canada, Poland, Russia and the Baltic states reflected on the relations between NATO and Russia in the context of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence, as well as the emerging challenges in the Baltics and NATO’s role in responding to them.

The discussion was organized by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs in a close cooperation with NATO Public Diplomacy Division, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riga, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Embassy of Canada to Latvia.
